Which online tax preparation software is 'really' free?

As a favor I file an elderly friend's Federal taxes every year and she
always gets a refund, which she has direct deposited.

Her income is less than $60K and she qualifies for 1040ez filing.

Last year I used TurboTax which I like and it was free. But there was a
catch I had forgotten about. I got all the way to the end where you can
elect to have your refund direct deposited. But the fee was almost $40 for a
Santa Barbara Bank & Trust (SBBT) Processing Fee.

So my question is, "Does anyone know of online software that does not have a
fee attached for direct deposit?"

I am running Windows XP and IE7 in case that matters - some software
applications are for a Mac.
