Actually it has been happening for several years. The North Atlantic charts have been running amok showing fully developed, fully formed cylones, ready to enter cyclosis, signalling the eruptions of Tenerife volcanoes among others:

How long has this phenomenon been unreported?
Sea Surface pressures longer cross the whole of the North Atlantic.
