Unix Web System Administrator

Candidates will be part of a large DoD web services organization located at
McNamara HQ near Springfield, VA, and will provide support to the web
administration team. The environment consists of Unix-based servers,
primarily Sun Solaris, with some Linux and Apple OS systems.

In accordance with DoD 8750.01-M, the successful applicant must have (or
attain within 6 months of employment) one of the following IAT Level II
certifications: Security+ or higher.

Active DoD Top Secret security clearance is preferred.
Active DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start (in order to
obtain a security clearance you must be a US Citizen and successfully
undergo a federal government background investigation).
Ultimately must be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Essential Functions
Manage the website, server, and security posture to ensure an accurate and
consistent presence on the internet.
Support emerging technologies including JBOSS, WebLogic, Web Services, LDAP,
FAST and other web technologies.
Administer/troubleshoot web servers, application servers, portals and
directory services issues.
Integrate and troubleshoot interactions between custom java code, databases,
web and application servers, operating systems and web content.
Support Unix servers using the command line.
Work within security infrastructure, PKI, SSL and firewalls.
Work closely with customers as an integrated team of Government and
Contractor staff.
Support multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
Highly Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and four years of related IT experience
(production/development or web programming) or six years related IT
experience in lieu of degree.
Must include two years of experience as Unix or Linux systems administrator
within the last five years.
Two years installing, configuring or maintaining web applications. This may
be as a systems administrator, developer, or content designer.


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or
related field preferred

Seven or more years of technical experiences in a client-server environment

Experience working with highly complex systems administration, database
administration, and landscape maintenance

Experience working with company products and services

Experience working with company and client documentation and storage

Experience working with highly complex system implementations and
organizational processes
